Marine Medical Training

Offshore Emergency Medicine®

This popular seminar is now in its 17th year, offering intensive medical training for cruisers and racing sailors operating out of range of rapid rescue and medical assistance. The program includes approximately 12 hours of pre-course reading, study, and on-line testing followed by three days of on-site training. There are no medical training prerequisites, but basic first aid and CPR is recommended. Certification is awarded by The Ocean Navigator School of Seamanship and Wilderness Medical Associates International, and earns 36 hours CME from CECBEMS. Offshore Emergency Medicine is Coast Guard approved under 46CFR 11.205(e)(l)(i).
